Is there an AA class for Sephora addicts? Hello, my name is Kimberly and I am addicted to Sephora... Also where I currently work. Potentially hazardous for my paycheck; no not potentially, defiantly hazardous for my paycheck. I've rather discovered this hidden passion for makeup artistry and product knowledge that emerged quite recently.
(My promo hand after a typical day at work, featuring eyeliner, nail polish, and lipstick swatches.)
Sephora, being the perfect working environment, has both helped along my product knowledge and aspirations to learn everything I can about the various & fascinating cosmetics the industry has to offer. Not only do I get to try brand new cosmetic and skincare innovations and technology when it first launches, I also have the privilege of making others feel beautiful.
As undoubtably cliche as it sounds, obtaining the sensation of helping others find the perfect foundation for their skin, or trying a new shade of lipstick is an accomplished feeling. Makeup for me isn't about covering up imperfections or hiding under a veil (in this case a mineral veil). It's about the artistry, and the innovative products that vary in use. One day I may decide to wear very little makeup; minimal foundation with simply mascara. Then the next day, I'll layer 10 different products and colors on my eyes while going the whole 9 yards with foundation and contouring-- making sure coverage is insured. Makeup isn't about covering up, it's about feeling beautiful and confident in your own skin: whether that's foundation or no foundation.
However, I will say this... Without my Anastasia brow pencil, and clear brow gel, I simply cannot function. Brows without fleekness are unworthy.
